I am a strong believer in gender equality.
In the past, women were treated completely unfair. No right to vote and no education rights were the kind of thing that women had to deal with on a daily basis, to name a few.

Tomorrow is International Women's day.

Years ago, a group of women stood up to have these issues changed. It's them we have to thank for the rights we have today. However still today, the gender status is not equal. I believe that people should have no special privileges just because they have different organs in their bodies.

Thankfully there are organisations who think the same way as well as a bunch of other people in the world. I hoping by just mentioning the topic at hand has made some of you think about it.

I'm a feminist. That does not mean that I want women to be better than men. It means I want men and women to each have 50%.

Why can't women get the same pay as men? They have all studied the same things and prepared themselves for the same job. No gender has worked harder for their money.

Why can't a women be a successful business women without people questioning it? No gender is smarter than the other and success should not have to do with certain body parts you have.

Why is it that a women is forced into a commitment with a man whom she doesn't know? Marriage is a very serious commitment and no one should be forced to love someone.

Why haven't these issues been fixed? Because people don't know about it enough.
It's all very well to sit back and say you want gender equality or that you're a feminist but to be honest, that is not going to do anything.

You don't have to spend heaps of money either. You can simply sign petitions. If an organisation gets enough signatures, the amount of things they can accomplish is crazy. It forces change. It will get gender equality to happen.

If, by reading this, I have convinced you into making a change for our world then I'll leave some websites for you to find out more and sign some petitions.

And to all the ladies reading this, I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. You're all beautiful and I love you.

This week I learnt something. Life is like a thrift shop.

Hey everyone,

I recently took a trip up into the mountains this weekend and I decided that I'd show you all some pictures from the trip. It really was a stunning place and was definitely worth it. You may remember last year I also went there. It was such a tranquil place that we had to return and so, here are my snippets from this year's trip:

Hey Everyone.

Today I am currently in the mountains for a short holiday. Because of this, I'd like to speak about taking time out to relax. You may not know this about me but I tend to get very stressed over all sorts of things. Some important, some not. It's just the way I am and I'm trying to work on it and become more calm and relaxed about things.

One of the things I love to do is going away with my family. Sometimes it's ages before we go on holiday. It makes sense to only go away every now and then because it often costs a lot and it takes a lot of planning. I want to just explain to you all how important it is to take breaks and when to take them.

An average person can only take so much pressure and stress before they crack. However some people require more stress/pressure to crack than others. For those who can crack under pressure more easily, they need to take more breaks to function properly and just because you can cope with more pressure doesn't mean you don't need a break. Everyone needs to take breaks. Without taking time out to relax and rejuvenate, stress can build and build until you could have a meltdown. This is exactly what you DON'T want.

Taking this into consideration, having too many breaks is not ideal either. Procrastination, incomplete projects and feeling lost can all contribute to having even more stress in the future. You want to balance your work with your relaxation time.

There also shouldn't be a set schedule for when in the year you need to take your holiday. Rather take a break when you need to. If you feel yourself about to crack then read a book, visit a friend, have a bath, anything to help calm you down. Then if you have the time and still feel stressed, book a holiday over a weekend or something. Explain to your boss or whom ever you need to that in order for you to work properly you need to unwind. Don't go for too long either. Just a short holiday to recharge yourself and you should be fine. It also doesn't have to be expensive. You can go camping or even stay home and lock up your electronics to take some you time.

And remember to have equal work and play. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and I'll chat to you all on Monday :)

Hey everyone.

You may or may not know that my first week of college started this week. College is completely different to High School and so I thought I'd enlighten you all of how it went and what I learnt.

This week consisted of orientation. This was basically a way to inform the 1st years what exactly to expect when school ACTUALLY starts. In short the week is supposed to be a way for the 1st years to get on their feet before the rest of the college come in.

The first day I want to call the "Make Friends Day." On this day, you basically make a whole bunch of friends. Even if you're the shyest person in the world, people are going to come up to you and introduce themselves. It was on this day that I made friends with the amazing people that I call my group of friends. They're all unique and although we are all following different paths, we are all able to stick together and we really had a great time together in this week.

Day 2 consisted of subject choice. At my college, we have a presentation from all the different subjects you can major in. For instance - we had the School of Film come and tell us what to expect if we chose it. Then followed all the other 'schools.' It was quite daunting signing the piece of paper which would solidify our future but exciting all the more.

Day 3 was probably the most boring of the 5. We went the usual drug, sex and alcohol talk and the guidelines of the school. Even though we had already heard/ read about most of it, it was still drilled into us. It was very important but all the information just caused the day to drag.

Day 4 and 5 were "Team Building" days. Here we got into teams and did numerous activities to help us get to know each other and the school. For example, we had our own version of The Amazing Race so we knew where everything in the college was. It was great fun and I was able to meet a lot of people that I still had not met.

Overall my first week pretty much consisted of making friends, long lunch breaks, uncomfortable chairs, numerous lectures, the wolf pack, running around the school, trying to get the wifi code and meeting more people than I could imagine. Although some parts may have been rather slow and boring, I wouldn't have missed it for anything because if I did I would probably not have met my friends that I have now :)

Moving onto the things I learnt this week:
1. The question "Where are you from?" is going to be asked MANY times.
2. Make sure you pronounce your name clearly when asked or risk being called the mistaken name for ages because of fear of correcting the person.
3. The aircon is extremely cold - bring a jacket no matter how hot it is outside.
4. It's okay if you forget someones name occasionally, no one will get offended - you're all in the same boat.
5. You're probably not going to remember anything from the week besides meeting your friends.
6. People are really free and easy going.
7. You have longer lunch breaks.
8. During your breaks, find someone who can drive and go for a coffee - it's definitely worth it :)
9. Forget the schedule - you probably won't finish at that time.
10. Relax. There's no stress like in high school. (yet) It's your first week after all. If you slip up once or twice, don't worry too much.

I hope that I gave you all some insight to my first week and maybe calmed a few of you who are about to go into a new college/ university. :) Let me know what stage you've reached, be it primary school, high school or college - heck even if you have or are looking for a job! :)

Hi everyone,

Since the first month of 2016 flew by in a blink of an eye, I decided that I should update you all on where I am currently.

Firstly for those of you who do not know, I joined a collab channel on YouTube. It's called Seven Sides. Basically each day a girl will post a video to do with a theme. Each girl is unique and absolutely amazing. I've been posting on there ever since the 3rd of January so if you've missed them so far, you can hop on over there and hit subscribe while you're at it :) We're already close to 100 subscribers!

As for my own channel, KayleighLock, I really feel like it has made a huge improvement from last year. I've learnt so much and am really happen with the content I'm creating. I couldn't be more happier with my 35 subscribers :) I really have decided to let God take control of it and since then everything has just been working out incredible for me. If you've missed it then you can go on over there too. I upload every Saturday :)

Today was my first day at college. Yeah, I know. It's crazy. It feels like just yesterday I was nervous about entering my last year of high school and look at where I am now. I am currently writing this on the 31st of January which means I still have no idea what it's going to be like. I am beyond excited to start this new chapter in my life. For those of you who don't know, I have decided to go into film production since this is where my passion lies. I'm excited to see how God will use me over the next 3 or so years. In short, It's going to be a wild and insane journey.

As for me as a person, I feel like I have really matured a lot. It sounds weird to me but I feel like all throughout High school I was completely unaware of the world I live in. In the short time during my holiday I have realised more things about myself than I ever thought I would. I feel like I've grown to become the person I'm truly meant to be. There were many things holding me back in high school but now it's time for me to grow my wings and soar.

Lastly, I wouldn't forget you guys, my blog. I am extremely happy with my blog currently. Recently I put in a huge effort to completely re-vamp my blog into it's new look and I'm obsessed with it. I know look forward to having more and more posts up so look forward to that in the future. :) Feel free to give me some ideas of posts you'd like to see in the future.

Thank you all for supporting me in whatever way you have, wether it be on here, YouTube, my social media sites or even being there to give me a hug when I needed it. I look forward to the future and I can't wait to share it with you.

For those who don't already know - I recently cut my hair.
I have had long hair for most of my high school life and thought it were time for a change.
I've now had short hair for 2 months tomorrow. During these 2 months I have discovered the best simple hairstyles for short hair. I hope you can get some ideas and don't forget to let me know in a comment what you think :)

Half up/Half down:

 Clipped back:

Hey everyone!
A while ago, in my Summer Morning Routine post, I promised to publish a post on my daily skin routine and voila, here it is.

The first thing I do in the morning when it comes to my skincare routine is make sure I have no makeup from the night before on my face at all. To do this I use my facial wipes which you can buy from any pharmacy/ drugstore. After that I will rinse my face with water. This rinses any of the residue from the facial wipes and making the face feel fresh. From there I begin with my skin treatment.

This starts off with washing my face. Recently I was getting a lot of blackheads and thankfully I picked up a Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Soap. This is a blue bar of soap and it's really easy to clean my face with it. It feels very moisturising and I can often see instant results. It's one of my new favourites.

If I don't have any blackheads then I will skip this step and go onto my normal routine which consists of using Young Solutions Face Wash and Young Solutions Tone Down Oil Controlling Toner. These have been my favourite brand for years and I don't think it's going to change any time soon. The face wash isn't too harsh on my face and definitely gets rid of any dirt. I never skip the toner because while toning, it also acts and a moisturiser. My face can get really oily sometimes and this can moisturize my face whilst controlling the oil.

After that, I am done for the morning. I then will put on some make up. With all these products, I never have to worry about wearing foundation, in fact I don't even own a bottle of foundation! However I do use concealer even now and then but other than that I don't have to use anything to cover up my skin. This is why I love my Young Solutions so much!

Some days I love to use a face mask. Although my family get a little creeped out, I love to use an all natural face mask. This normally consists of one egg white, a teaspoon of honey and a little bit of cinnamon. These ingredients do wonders for my face. I mix all the ingredients together and smother my face with it. In about half a hour (Or the length of one episode on Netflix... ) I wash it off and my face feels so smooth and fresh.

Later, after my shower, I will make sure all my make up is off. For this I either use Coconut Oil or facial wipes. Coconut Oil is an amazing product that helps to get all your make up off. After this I will then use the same Young Solutions Face wash and Toner. After that I will take Young Solutions Tee Tree Night Blitz. This contains, you may have already guessed, Tee tree oil. Tee tree oil is also an amazing thing which helps to prevent acne.

That's it! That's my secret to having good skin! I highly suggest picking up coconut oil and tee tree oil because those are the product which you can find anywhere and are the best. I would also recommend doing the face mask 1 to 2 times a week. I wish you all flawless skin. Don't forget that even if you don't have that great skin, it's all natural and you shouldn't feel pressurised to get rid of it or cover it up. You're all beautiful! :)
