Monthly Monday Missions is a new thing I am introducing to my blog. It's pretty easy to work out what it is but to fully explain, every first monday of the month i'll be posting a mission. This mission could basically be anything. It could be a new thing to try that month or a tip to help you with that mission for the month. This is because I think we all would rather stay in our comfort zones but every now and again it is good to try new things :)

For this months Monthly Monday Mission I am making a suggestion.

I recently turned 17. Whooo. ;) That means I can get my Learners License. This may or may not be the same for you depending on where you live and what age you are but for those who are at this point in their lives... believe me, I feel you. I mean it can feel quite daunting to have to learn for the test which will allow you to drive. I don't know about you but I worry about not passing. That's why I went out and bought a book to help me out. Yes it means you have to study and no one wants to do that but it depends which book you get. Finally we arrive at our destination... my point (hehe see what I did there...why am I so weird) My point is that below you'll see my book I got.

This book is a soft cover and contains all the correct information with practice tests which are similar to the actual tests.

Bright bold pictures are used to clearly show you what is correct/incorrect.

Practice tests are asked in the same way as the actual tests.

Yes this is me walking down a cliff.... I can't believe I did it either :)

Some valuable skills were learnt I can tell you that. I probably won't ever be cooking from a potjie pot anytime soon but you never know :) (For those non-South Africans... A potjie (POI-KIE) is a traditional pot used to cook a stew like meal over a fire.)

After a VERY tiring hike to the waterfall, I was nothing short of blown away and the beautiful scenery.

I know this is a bit of a different post to usual but I feel like being in nature is something we all may or may not enjoy. It is something we all do come into contact though. This was just an incredible experience. Let me know in the comments if you like these kind of posts :)

I'm sorry to have to say this but next week I am going on a school camp so I won't be able to post any blog posts or videos.(click here to watch the rest of my videos) I know it sucks. We can't even take our cell phones so I'm gonna be completely off the map :( BUT in every situation there is a positive. I know most of us don't like going on these types of camps so here's a guide to not losing your head!

Essential beauty things to pack:

Sunblock! No matter if you are going to the berg or the beach. Summer or winter. Sunblock is essential! Nothing worse than coming back with a nasty sunburn. It also moistens your skin so if you're going to a dry area then it's perfect! Always remember to keep your skin healthy!

Insect Repellent. When you're doing activities you don't want to have to be scratching a mosquito bite from the night before or having to go through the pain of a spider bite. You never know what the bug quality is going to be like there!

If you are planning on wearing make up then waterproof is always the best. You don't know what activities you'll be doing so waterproof might help you from black streaks later. But remember, it's camp. No one is really going to mind if you don't look your best. If you are taking make up - keep it simple. You don't want to come as a superficial prissy girl. :/

Body Essentials:

Yes it's camp but that doesn't mean forget all your daily health routines. Like brushing your teeth and hair. It's important to keep healthy because it's a new environment and you're not too sure how clean it is. I know we all have those days where we don't brush or wash our hair because we are lazy but if you're on camp and you don't do anything to your hair then when you come home it's going to be very hard to get it back to normal because of how bad your knots will be.

Washing your face is absolutely compulsory. These camps are often very dusty and dirty so your face will be extremely filthy which can cause spots later so don't stop washing your face. I know it can be a mission as you often don't get as much time as you wanted in the morning to get ready but pack some facial wipes and just give your face a wipe before going out in the morning.

I am not too sure in your school allows you to keep your own medicine but if they do then pack some Aspirin. You might get a headache and you don't want to have to have it the whole trip.

Snacks:

Ooooh this is my favorite part! I love bringing snacks and having a midnight feast with all my friends while telling secrets. This is by far the best part of camp. I would even just go to camp for it!

A few of the best things to pack are chocolate, marshmallows and crackers for smores! I love sitting by the fire and eating smores!

Chips or popcorn packets. It's camp and a little chips or popcorn never killed anyone :)

Drinks with reusable bottles. I know I sometimes like to take a milkshake but once I've drunk it then i have to throw away the bottle and I can't keep a drink with me all the time. Pack drinks in bottles with lids so you can refill them later.

Other Necessities:

Torch. When staying in a place you're not used to, you don't want to be freaked out by a random noise you're not used to and then not know what it is. If you're like my school and sleep in bunk beds then wether you're on top or bottom you'll still be freaked out. Having a torch will make you instant friends if you find that pesky spider now rather than later...

Manicure set. Yes this is crucial because if someone gets a thorn then your handy tweezers might make you a new friend. Your friend may break a nail in which case the file may come in handy or you could treat your girlfriends to a girly sleepover one night :)

Plasters. No matter where you are going, someone is bound to cut themselves on something. You can help someone out if you give them a plaster even if it's just to cover up a splinter hole.

Tips:

Pack lightly! You can't ask someone else to carry your very heavy suitcase because they have their own to carry. Pack for yourself. Pack what you need and don't go over board with the amount of clothing you need. It isn't a fashion show.

I know a lot of people really don't like these types of camps but I promise you if you go there feeling positive and write down at least one highlight of each day, you'll have a better time.

Enjoy it and have fun. You only get to go a certain amount of times so make to most of it!

Love you all!

P.S. I won't be posting until after camp so I promise you'll get a double portion when I get back! :) I'll miss y'all :)

My sister left today for something called The Journey. It's a 3 week hike in the mountains where you learn vital skills for life. In preparation for the hike, she had to buy a couple things that even I wouldn't mind using! Some things that the girls packed were essential things I would keep in my hand bag, which gave me the idea of hand bag must-haves...so here are my top 5 must-haves in my handbag:

Tissues are something that you never know if you'll need or not but I keep them there because you never know when you or someone else will having a sneezing fit ;) you can also use them to clean up an embarrassing mess on your shirt from a piece of your lunch :)

Earphones are a complete must! You may find a time where you are bored or there's a new YouTube video (wink wink) that you want to watch but don't want to disturb anyone... so you whip out your earphones and crank up the volume! :)

The amount of times I am out with my friends and we have a "picture perfect" moment where I didn't have a camera. So now I carry a camera with me all the time. Yeah, you could use your phone but I'd rather want the real thing and you may need space on your phone :)

Lip Gloss! Lip Balm! Lip Stick! Any of these are essential... I tend to pack all three but just one is fine. You never know when you may buy a packet of chips leaving your lips all dry... no problem now because you have your lip balm to moisten your lips! You may also go out for dinner and need to re-apply your lip stick. Lip Gloss is purely my favorite :)

Lets all just face the fact that sometimes you want the chocolate bar on the shelf in the shopping mall. A little cash can help you out here. I always pack a little change in my bag because it could be an emergency where you need cash. You pay need to pay for parking or your card may have been stolen or you're in dying need of that chocolate bar... a little extra change can save you from some trouble!

These are a few must-haves in your handbag which can turn your night out with your friends into a real amazing time! :)

Love you all xx

On the 1 August it was my Grade 11 Dance. My whole grade had to dress up in cute cocktails dresses and bring along a date for an amazing evening. Being the school I come from, everyone went a little crazy but everything pulled together on the night :)

My brother decided to randomly make me a treat. It was very simple but he spread icing on a Marie Biscuit and gave it to me. It came to me as such a surprise and I just felt really good inside.

Basically what I want to say today is that people really appreciate random acts of kindness. A random act of kindness is when you deicide to help or treat someone you to something when they aren't expecting it. Basically you do something kind for someone else that makes them happy.

At my school we have this challenge. Basically each class has a turn to do a random act of kindness and then nominate another class. The act of kindness could be anything from helping at an animal shelter to giving a cake to the police station.

This way we can each have a turn to do something a little out of our comfort zone and we have an amazing time. People's facial expressions when you arrive, ready to work for them of treat them is incredible. It makes both of you feel good inside.

You don't have to be apart of any challenge or program to do this. That's what I love about it. There is no pressure to do it. You can do it whenever you like and that's what makes it the best, when people least expect it.

You don't have to be any age to do it either. If you are a bit young then you can speak to an adult to help you. Just ask for help and explain what you want to do.

Being helped out is an amazing feeling but when you have been working so hard and then someone you don't even know gives you a reward just makes you feel like it's all worth it. Even the animals appreciate it!

I highly recommend doing a random act of kindness because you and then person you're helping or treat both leave feeling refreshed and happy. It's the small things that really count. You never know what someone may be going through. To receive a random act of kindness could turn their bad day into a good one in an instant.

Love you all xx

So I just realized that I only have one more week of holidays. This is my last week and I feel like it has just flow by. In South Africa, where I live, it can get so cold. It doesn't snow but it really feels like it should. My room has tiled floors and it doesn't catch the sun so I literally freeze. My siblings are lucky though because they have carpets and heaters but enough about that.

These holidays have just come and gone like that and it's kinda disappointing because I didn't really do anything productive. I mean I slept in late, ate like a pig, lay around, watched YouTube videos and was just lazy. I didn't go out and do something interesting so here is my guide to an adventurous holiday:

1. Don't sleep in too late.

Yeah, it's the holidays, where you can sleep in and rest up but what I mean is don't sleep until the middle of the day. You're just throwing away half of your day already. No wonder time has flown by.

2. Heathy lifestyle.

Of course on holiday you don't have the strict meal times like at school or those heathy lunches your mom packs you so its a bit hard to stay healthy and lets just face the fact... We're lazy ;) What I am saying is that look for some delicious, easy meals to cook at home. You'll be a lot happier when you've made an amazing meal that is healthy and tasty. Yes, I understand that not everyone is a cook and can make all these wonderful meals but thats when your creativity comes in. A fruit salad is a simple, healthy and easy meal to eat. Be creative and look on the internet for more ideas :) A little junk food every now and then isn't gonna kill you ;)

3. Get some fresh air.

I know its hard to have to exercise on a daily basis and when it's holidays there's no way you'd want to do that so this is when you can get a little sneaky. Trick your body into exercising ;) Going for a long walk around your neighborhood, walking the dog, swimming in the sea or anything like this is fun and is exercising your body at the same time. You are also having a better time than sitting, staring at a screen all day.

4. Go a little crazy.

Don't wreck a house or anything a bit too crazy but it is the holidays, so have a little fun. Don't be the nerd who does the next terms work or whatever. (unless you like it ) Yeah if you have homework you need to do by all means do it but don't leave it to the last minute. Its the holidays so have fun. Meet new people, goof off with your friends, play with your siblings, go shopping or whatever interests you. Make the most of your holidays :)

I hope your holidays are incredible! Your holidays will feel like they were to short or they flew too quickly but at least they were full of new memories. Who wants to remember their holiday as you sleeping the whole time? Certainly not me. So make the most of your holidays.

Love you all :)

Recently I have been terrible when it comes to credit. I am 17 years old and I already became stuck in debt. Ok so I borrowed money from my sister and couldn't pay her back for a while and it was horrible because she kept nagging me to pay her back. My point is that being in debt is something I never want to be in again and I am sure none of you want to either. During this time I came up with a few tips that I am sure will help you stay out of debt.

Tip 1: Always know exactly how much money you have in your bank account.

Whether you have a bank account or not, it is still helpful to know how much money you have. If a time comes where you have the option to use credit, at least you will know how much money you can spend. You could also carry cash with you instead. I know this can be a risk but at least you can't over spend

Tip 2: Don't pay with money you "will get soon"

I am sure most of us have had that time where we are just dying to get something on sale at the shops but we don't have money. We decide to pay with credit and pay the next day because that's when you get payed. The problem is that we all live pretty hectic lives so maybe your payer is busy and can only pay you the following day which leaves you having to pay for the item PLUS interest. Maybe you can't afford it then and decide to save up but then you have more interest and it just becomes one huge mess. My point is don't use the money you "will get soon"

Tip 3: Store cards use and useless.

Store cards can be a plus or a minus. The ones where you can earn points by shopping is a plus. You go about you normal shopping and once you earn enough points you can get something free. The store cards where you can buy something now for a discount and pay later are the ones you have to look out for. Most people don't read the terms and conditions. Pretty much no one does. What people don't understand is you have a certain amount of days before you have to pay the full price of the product. This is where people are tricked.

Tip 4: Doggie bags

When eating out it is easy to see something you think looks amazing. I know I have done that plenty times. You order it thinking it will be perfect but then they bring it to you and it looks like something an elephant could eat because it is so huge. That's when you decide that it will be fine, you will just eat as much as you can. When the bill comes your eyes grow bigger than your head because it is so expensive. Then later you have to go home and you feel hungry again and you spend more money getting more food. This is what a few people I have noticed do. What they really don't know is that big meal they ordered, they can take it home. That way you have bought two meals actually because when you go home and you're a bit hungry again you can just eat the remainder of the meal before. You save money and you save food.

Tip 5: Doesn't fit, don't buy.

Ladies, I know we are all guilty of this sometime in our lives when we see a piece of clothing and we think it is to die for but they don't have our size. What do we do? We buy it anyway. The thing is that item may be expensive and then we never wear it because we don't have the time to fix it up so it just becomes a waste. Rather you can buy your size online or wait until they have your size. We can be blinded when it comes to clothes ;)

I hope you these tips can help you out and if you have any more tips you can comment below :)

Love you all

For ages my cousin, Simone and I have been wanting to go to see The Fault In Our Stars. We both saw the trailer months ago and were so excited. It was released in theatres the week before so we decided to meet up and watch it together. My friend, Caroline had seen it already and she told us to "prepare ourselves." When she came back from watching it she was a mess. Her make up was all over the place and she was crying. Well that's how she explained it. We laughed at her and teased her but it didn't prepare us for the movie at all.

Simone and I packed tissues and wore waterproof mascara just incase but we weren't expecting anything. We happened to go on the last weekend of the month so you can imagine how packed the shopping mall was. The lines were so long we didn't even get popcorn.

Once seated in our chairs and the movie began we enjoyed it. The first half was lighthearted and we laughed a few times. But as soon as a character had to go to hospital we were blubbering messes. We didn't expect it to be so sad. We left the theatre feeling blow away and couldn't believe how amazing it was.

The Fault In Our Stars is an absolutely incredible movie. I still have to finish the book but I cannot express how amazing the movie was. The acting was insane. The storyline I can't even start to explain how well thought out it was. It was FLAWLESS. I loved it. It's the type of movie you can watch over and over again and still cry. It captured your emotions and left you speechless. It wasn't that it was depressing that made you cry, it was how attached you got to the characters. I suggest this movie when you are cuddling up on a girls night in. :)
